I can't be entirely certain, but those vents probably let quite a bit
of heat out from under the hood...just a word of caution if you plan
on filling them without putting in some other venting.  I just saw
some pretty cool Grand Am type vents in several Sciroccos and Rabbits
at the Toronto Bug Show this weekend.  Maybe you should put in some
other vents like that after filling the stock ones...??
