My corroded terminals need help!
Here's the problem: when I first got my Scirocco, I discovered that the
terminals in the connector for the hall effect sensor were all corroded. I
cleaned them up with a paste of baking soda and water, and that allowed me
to start the car. However, Saturday I tried to start it to move it out of
the garage and it wouldn't even start on ether. I haven't verified that the
spark was the problem, but I suspect it was. Does anyone have a good way to
clean these terminals so I can make it run reliably? I noticed that my
brother's '85 Golf GTI has some goop in all the connectors, which I've seen
on other cars, but mine has none.
