Re: Consensus Wanted
Woohoo!!! VW Pickups rule! hehe
Actually, they never left the truck market... in fact, in South Africa you
can still buy A1-chassis VW pickups, just like what was sold in the US from
'80 thru '83. There are A3 pickups in Europe (and other places). Most of
these have a HUGE fiberglass top on the back, taller and wider than the cab
of the truck. However, you can still get a normal pickup.
For awhile, VW and Toyota were in bed together, and VW offered the Taro.
This was, from what I've seen, a Toyota truck with VW badging. I'd love to
find a Taro grill for one of my Toyotas.
I guess I don't see the need, however, for VW to offer a fullsized truck. I
also don't see the need for Toyota fullsize trucks (Tundra). I drive
smaller trucks unless I *need* a big truck, for pulling my trailer or
whatever. Then I use my 1 ton Chevy 4x4, which I think does a better job
than any Toyota or VW ever will for the tough stuff.
My $.02
