Don't forget about the large rubber bushing attached underneath the car with 
a triangle shaped bracket.  I changed this last weekend and it made a 
tremendous difference in shifter feel, now I have no problem getting it into 
1st too.  My kit was 25 dollars and it came with this big bushing,  I am not 
sure if it comes in the 6 dollar kit but it may.
