cam gear

who makes the best adjustable cam gear for an 8v? I don't want one based
on the stock gear, i want it as light as possible. How much do they
cost?

if they are much lighter, would it be worth using one on the
intermediate shaft too? Since it's for a motronic crossflow 8v and the
distributor is fixed, i could use it to slightly advance the timing ...
although with a chip, the timing will probably be at it's limits.

what's the compensation that should be dialed in after a head has been
shaved or a thinner head gasket installed?
