I attempted to remove the pulley from the crankshaft tonight but was not
successful. The intermediate shaft pulley was easy, I just wedged a
screwdriver through the center to hold it in place. I tried vice-grips to
hold the crankshaft pulley, but only succeeded in bending it a little, so I
stop before I screwed it up beyond repair. Unfortunately, my manuals were
not much help.
I'm trying to remove these so I can replace the seals beyind them. They've
been leaking for awhile, and since I already had the head off... well, you
know the story... all this for a head gasket.. Hehe :)
So, any great suggestions on how to hold the pulley in place so I can
remove (and then replace) the nut? I believe someone (Shawn?) mentioned
some cool, special (VW specific??) tool ?
TIA!
Greg... ( and I thought THIS would be easy!) :)
