juss plain advice needed

i need advice on what to set my timing at???  and how do i do it?  i've 
only had toyotas before, so the roc engine is somewhat strange teritory 
for little things.  man, i wish i had one of those bentley manuals.  
whaddaya guys think about shifting points(what rpm)?  i need to get 
better at this dragging stuff, because every homo at every light seems 
to want to race me.  the loosers with the 5.7l firebirds too.  i tend to 
make them think i wanna race, but than i take off like a grandma and 
just laugh as they bolt off on their own.  well i'm gonna go cut my 
shift lever 4 inches or so.  thanks
