yes, this is for emissions only, they don't want you dripping oil
everywhere, you can disconnect it, plug the hole and run it to a
bottle, but it is a bit of a small vaccume leak now, won't hurt
performance that much and your fuel efficiency may go down a hair
but nothing noticable. It doesn't hurt to have that oil, especiall if
you're running a K&N..heh keeps it oiled, and it just gets burned up
anyways.....I'd say just leave it connected, unless you have a 17:1
comperession methanol burning 16v dragster.
