smog frustrations!!!!

so I took my rocco in yesterday to smog, thinking
there is a very good possibility it will pass.
BUT, it didn't.

Not only did it not pass, but they want to charge
me $110 for a diagnostic just to figure out what's
wrong!  That's not even including what it will cost
to fix it!
Unfortunately, my area requires that effing dyno smog.
And they tell me I missed by .01 percent!

aaaarrrrrrrggghghghgghghgg

In the end, I bet it will cost me upwards of $300 to smog
my car when all is said and done.
