Slipping Clutch

My 87 16v Rocco seems to have a small (big) problem. My clutch seems to
slip and make a sort of slithering sound when I start off, reverse or
accelerate hard. Is there a screw I can tighten /\. I would really
appreciate some advice before I take it in to get fixed.
