A few questions about VW

1) DT motor - I know nothing. Is this in the new Passat? U.S. Passats
have had either the 9A (16V 4) or the VR6 (until the current version)
2) Your engine is a 1.5 (I am assuming this is a north american model) -
if you want more power I would advise getting a 1.8 or 2.0.
3) Front Brakes: How big do you want? 9.4", 10.1" or 11" For the Kelsey
Hayes 9.4", it's just a matter of swapping calipers (and carriers) and
vented discs. For the 10.1" discs, you have to get calipers and carriers
too, and you may wish to upgrade the master cylinder and pedal
assembly/booster. For the 11", I would consult an expert (not me).
4) Many sway bars are available for the MK1 (uses same bars as the Mk2) -
Neuspeed and others make the bars you mentioned. As far as which is
better, you'll need to consider what your goals are (street vs race,
etc.) and consult some of the more knowledgeable folks (not me).

FWIW, I upgraded the brakes on Kristen's '78 Scirocco to the Kelsey Hayes
(from the horrible earlier Girling) vented 9.4".

Hello.
 I'm new here so I have many questions.
I'm the owner of the MK1 Scirocco ('78) - stock (for now).

Questions:

Does anybody have any informations about the DT engine (it's engine from

Passat and Audi 80)?
The most important questions are:
                    Can I put the 2.0L crank (90.5mm stroke) into this
engine?
                    Can I overbore the engine to 82.5mm?
Does it fit?

Does anybody knows something about putting the bigger brake discs. I
know that calippers has to be replaced.
But any informations about this swap will be helpfull.

Maybe someone have informations about sway bars for MK1 Scirocco. I'm
looking for 22 or 25 front swaybar (which one is better?) and 28mm rear
swaybar.
