Wassup listers!
I need some advice if anyone has any!
I am about to go and have this installed in my 1980 mk1... actually
_this morning_ if all goes well. After my original 1.6 seized I had no
choice but to go larger. What kind of HP can I expect? What should I
look for on the exterior, any signs of wear etc? Thankfully the donor
car was in a REAR-ender so the engine is mint, compression 185 all
across. The dealer is asking 700 Canadian for the motor, and 500 more to
install and replace some minor parts. This is all tax-inclusive, and the
guy even arranged a 40-minute tow for free!
The guy, however, doesn't wanna leave a paper trail but will give me 6
months warranty on engine and work.
Whaddayathink?
Please reply anytime soon, preferably in a few hours if possible!
Peace,
Pete
1980 nothing, soon to be 1980 8v GTI
