Here's what I did about 3 weeks ago to remove it... for the first time ever.
First, I etched a groove in it with a screwdriver on the furthest most DRIVERS
side of the plug. Then I took a LONG breaker bar that I use for other typical
last resorts and put the edge of it right into that groove at an angle so I
could push on it "counter clockwise". I wacked away just a lil bit and shazam
it started unscrewing. It was kinda barbaric but in retrospect it worked
quite nicely. I haven't put it back in and I don't intend to either. I'll be
the unlucky one that drops a socket in there but O well.. I'll deal. HTH
