RE: She died peacefully

Pete:

Your post reminds me of a song by my favorite band, The Scud Mountain
Boys..."They pulled her from a ditch last night, somewhere down on 95, on
the wrong side of the road..."

Anyway, I strongly recommend the 2.0 Crossflow from an A3 Golf/Jetta. The
work involved is about the same as for the 1.6 or 1.8 but the result is much
better. Plus, then I would have someone else's brain to pick when figuring
out stuff on my own car. Mine is the 78 with the A3 motronic 2.0 crossflow
setup. I love it.

A guy named Nigel Heron has started a website devoted to doing the same swap
I did. It's got some pretty neat technical info on it and links to some
sites, including JWelty's photos of my car & engine if you're interested.
There's a pic of my car on your site as well, I think.

If you decide to do it, I'd be glad to offer lots of free advice during the
process :-)

Here's the link:

I need a new motor! I need some basic help on what to look for in a used
engine...

I definately want to upgrade my 1600 to at least an 1.8, but should I go
as big as a 2.0 (like an A2 Crossflow) or a GTI engine?...
