    I have had hubs that get toasted from bad wheel bearings.  My only
guess is that something internal to the bearing slows it down just enough
to make the bearing spin around the hub, the actual bearing unit itself.
I think since I have had the car, I have had 2 hubs replaced for just this
reason.  My suggestion is as soon as you hear a noise, replace the
bearing, otherwise you risk toasting the hub.
