Project 16V begins!!!

Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you all know that my friend and I  picked up a sweet
86 Scirocco 16V for $950 bucks! this weekend. Initial thoughts are damn
good deal, car is black and straight as an arrow, all original , and a
list of problems a mile long. That's ok though the cars at my place
awaiting a compression check followed by either a complete tune up or a
2.0 swap depending on compression. Depending on how that goes we'll be
gutting the car and giving it a good once over cleaning and possibly a
retro fit dash, has anyone dropped in a G60 dash? What options do we
have as far as gauge clusters? The current one is junk. From there it
gets a little fuzzy I opt for suspension mods but my friend and the
actual car owner is leaning toward stereo mods, should be enough cash to
go around , thanks to the low selling price.... I'll keep you guys
posted I told Jon he should join the scirocco list but his job here is a
little more demanding than mine, so he doesn't have time for the list.
Hence why the car is in my hands heh heh heh!
