I know, I know, I know. I ran out of time. I had to go somewhere that
evening. When I swapped the air meter, my old fuel dist. was attached. For
some reason, (dirt probably) the piston in the center protruding from the
bottom of the fuel dist. was stuck. Now I had to reattach the old one, very
pissed off at that point. Disassembled the old one later, cleaned it, works
like new.
The coil will be replaced this weekend with the one from, yep you guessed
it, my old '84 GLI(see: tears) : ( Regardless of the weather, except rain.
I also ran a ground from the battery to the coil ground. It's probably
psychological, but seems to start even better. Still we'll get this one yet
guys. Thanks for the suggestion Paul.
