Grinding/welding/cutting metal causes heat stress and fatigue on the
metal in the vicinity of the corresponding work. Shot peening
re-strengthens the metal - anybody care to elaborate on the process
of shot peening or any of the other methods of removing heat
stress/fatigue from metal? I know Raven's book describes several of
the processes.
