Relays: Radiator Fan quirk (?)

Howdy,
	I've noticed that my radiator fan will turn on indefinitely if I
have my blowers on at all AND if the vent lever is aimed anywhere but
feet or face.  It's an '86 8v.  Actually, it's quite convenient, since
the temp switch doesn't seem to be working 'well' anymore.  But my
concern is if this is indicative of a goofy wiring job or improper relay
setup, since my fuel pump doesn't operate until the starter kicks in.
I'd appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me on this.
