I agree with Paul.  Two of the three Rabbits that I have owned has done that
crap on me.  When I got them, I didn't know that the cars were leaking.
Come to find out, it wasn't what your probably thinking (windshield).  It
was the area where the wiper motor, ICU, and etc are.  Dirt, foliage, and
other crap had clogged up the drainage holes and somehow the water was
draining through near the electrical wiring.  Freakin' cars were like
possessed!  In fact, the 78 would just completely shut off going down the
motorway (when I was stationed in England).  Check it out.  HTH
