You might have broken a motor mount, or your shift linkage might have gotten
loose. Get under the car and check it out. Doesn't sound like a transmission
problem to me. I had a customer come in recently and tell me he needed a new
transmission because it wouldn't shift into certain gears and made lousy noises
in others. I replaced his front and rear motor mounts, which were both
completely shot (ripped in half), and he was on his way.
