Idle Sucks
I have tried everything and need the collective wisdom of the group to fix
the Roc. The motor is a a86 RD code 1.8 with CIS-E and knock sensor. After
warmup, the idle bounces between 500 and 1000 and sometimes will die
altogether at a stop. I have done the following
Replaced O2 sensor with both of my spares...one's fairly new and ones old
Replaced idle stabilizer with spare...a good one the worked on a buddies car
last week.
If I unplug the O2 sensor it idles fine
If I unplug the idle stabilizer it idles fine.
With both unplugged it idles.....you guessed it.....FINE
WTF could this problem be caused by.....it came on as a stop light only
occasional stalling and then progressed into this hunting idle.
Any suggestions are welcome.....come one come all
