Re: Heating system light? My $0.02

I just finished putting in some gauges, and in the process I took off the heater control panel. I had to remove the light fixture in the panel b/c one of the connections had fallen off it. Apparently the previous owner had already done this b/c the plastic bit the light fixture went into (female)was cracked, but the light fixture (male) fit in nice and tight (don't get excited now, we're talking cars here!). The light fixture was beat up, so I trashed it and replaced it w/ a light fixture from an extra VDO gauge I picked up @ the junkyard. So, you can replace the fixture, just gotta 'jerry rig' it a little.

I tried to pull the light bulb from the trashed light fixture and found that the ^@%^#!! bulb is soldered into the light fixture. Maybe that is what is being referred to? I got the bulb out, but rendered it useless in the process.

My $0.02
