relays

hey all, like I said earlier I am going to the junk yard tomorrow, what 
I forgot to ask is could a fuel pump relay work for the head lights? A 
relay is just a remote switch right? I was thinking that fuel pump 
relays already have a fuse. Is there any other relays I could snag? I 
know that you do not want to go cheap, but I figured if they are already 
on the car from the factory how bad could they be.
