Re: time to paint
Ive had several vehicles with no bumpers... in NJ, the rule is that the
tailpipe must NOT be the longest part of the car when viewed from above.
My LiTE GTi had NO bumpers on it and the tail pipe was just angled
enough so when you looked down the hatch (and the hatch button) were the
last things on the car... I guess this was to stop pedestrians from
getting burnt.
My '69 lowrider bug had no bumpers and no decklid and I used to get
harassed by one cop. eventually he told me to put the engine lid on or
cover the pulleys, so I covered the pulleys- the engine was too pretty
to hide under a lid!
Eventually, he's the cop who told me about the tailpipe law. My
pea-shooters were hanging out, and he told me to fix it by friday. Sure
enough, That Friday he pulled me over and I switched the exhaust! I
didn't want bumpers!
