For that price, it sounds like you got a remanufactured unit.  Realize that
when you use one of these, the CV joints have been ground out and larger
ball-bearings put in.  This process removes the metal in the joint that is
hardened, and thus the joints will wear faster.

It's not that much more work to replace the CV joints with brand new ones
on your existing axles, and it's better quality.
