There is a company called Kennedy Engineering that makes adapters to put
a variety of engines onto aircooled VW transaxles.
http://www.kennedyeng.com I believe. Something like $400 or so to put a
watercooled 4 cylinder VW into a Beetle (that's just the adapter).
BTW, I'm looking to find a used one somewhere... so let me know if you
can help
