Re: sub box?

Not to beat this non-Rocco post to death but obviously my post was
miscommunicated. When I said sealed and ported I meant a bandpass. Bass
is what you more than likely want. Other speakers will produce your
other frequency ranges. I use many different speakers to produce an
overall excellent quality sound range. When I said building a box is
complicated I was refering to a bandpass, with angled housing for two
dual voice coil subs. measuring internal volume of these boxes is very
hard. Also proper lenght of ports is very important. Just because you
know from the manufacturer the best combination of volume and port size
to go ahead and build it from scratch is not that simple for a novice.
I have been doing stereo builds for awhile and ported bandpass boxes
give the best, tight bass for low amps. Of course when I said bigger is
better I meant the box and the speakers. EVERYTHING has to match and be
compatible including amp size, wire guage and how you wire it. I have
yet to "bottom out a voice coil" or blow an amp or any other destruction
of audio equipment. I try to be more specific for now on.
