    I would first make sure the belt is nice and tight, you have good
grounds, good power cables... Then I would put a meter on the battery
and with the car at idle turn on a bunch of accessories.  If the volts
drop below 12.8~13.0 volts, you may have a bad regulator.  IF your car
has starting problems, but the volts are up high when you have accessories
on, the battery may have gone tits up, pardon the expression  =)  HTH..
