Naw, yer not crazy at all. I have the same issue and I'll be damned if it aint
short on info on the door's wing windows. Want to swap the GTI's movable ones
for the funky, previous owner, glued in place one that are on the '78.
As for seats-
- Move the seats all the way back.
- Look for a nut and screw thingy ( technical term ) that keeps them from
sliding off the tracks, it's right in the center.
- Remove said nut and screw, I'm holding one now, it looks like an acorn nut,
a washer, and a solid cylinder with a slot cut in the end.
- With these out you can now slid the seat all the way off the track.
- Replacement is the opposite of removal. ( to quote the big Red Book ).
