How did the swap thingy go.  I'm getting mine to turn but not completely, I
killed the battery trying to get the timing right so hopefully tomorrow
she'll be running.

At any rate, I'm have similar problems with my linkages.  Try as much as
possible to follow the Bentley.  I know that this is not helping much but
the last time I tired adjusting it ala Bentley, I got very close.  I can
access all the gears, except that 1st and reverse hit the metal box thing
under the shifter.  As far as I can see, you gotta be exact in order to
access all the gears.  HTH.  Lemme know what happens.
