colored gauges

I was planning on getting some colored gauges soon and I want to change
stock needles for the red ones from an audi, has anyone done this?
Also picked up the new issue of VW Motoring and they had a scirocco
buyers guide with a picture of a MK1 convertible looked pretty cool I
never saw one before only MK2's
