RE: mechanics
I try to do as much work as I can. Unfortunately, I still have a limited set
of tools and knowledge, so I can't do everything. I don't trust anyone else,
either, and I keep getting more reasons to justify it. My last trip to the
garage was for a timing belt (I read all the horror stories on the list).
Since it was all coming off anyway, I had them change the other v-belts,
too. THREE TRIPS LATER I finally just tightened them all down myself. They
kept missing bolts on the tensioners, and the belts were always loose. I
never did look at the timing belt...*shudder*...
Too bad, 'cause the owner of the shop is a really cool guy and he tried hard
to keep my business, but whatever mechanic he had wrenching my car was a
complete idiot. I probably won't go back.

Just curious, how many of you do your own work on your Rocs? I dont
know about the rest of you, but I am paranoid of giving my car to anyone
to work on it. Please tell me I am not alone, heheh =) Plus, when I
do the work I know that nuts and bolts werent left out. Sorry for the
off topic post, I just started wondering why people with cars they deeply
care about are quick to let other people work on them.
