[help!] [tech] [power steering pump change]

Hey all...

My power steering pump started making all sorts of noise during my trip 
to Canada for the Bug Show so I was thinkin' I'd change it this weekend.  
Bentley doesn't seem to say boo about how to do this.  Anybody have any 
tips / ideas / step by step directions?  (I'm not too mechanical, but 
workin' on it.)  Also, I was going to use the pump from my '87 8v parts 
car to replace it - are the 16v and 8v pumps the same?  (I haven't 
looked yet...)
