Hello Listers,

I need your help.

I am thinking of picking up a used transmission(junkyard) and rebuilding it.
I want to get a 5-speed wide ratio.  I want to put in a Quaife(so I need an
020).  I might want to convert 5th to a higher ratio(now or later).

What is the latest year transmission I can get, that does not have the self-
machining syndrome, can be fitted with the Quaife, has the highest overall
ratio in fifth(or close to it) and will fit into my old '78.  What do I look
for on the outside of the tranny(codes) to confirm what they are selling me?

I remember someone had a list of trannys and their ratios..., Shawn?
