In the U.S., the base 1980-1984 Rabbits came with Carbs.

If you're really bored, you can read about it in the 1980-1984 Bentley
for A1 VW (including Sciroccos).

Just exactly were do you find '83-'84 Carb'ed anything?  ( Non-Beetle

And how would an O2 sensor interact with a carb anyway?  Pulling on the
choke?
