Since you said it starts at 70 mph, the first place I would suspect is
the tires - are they balnced properly? Out of round tires usually do this
to me (or worse, a bent wheel).
This is only a guess . . .

While I am writing away I might as well ask about this too. I have a
vibration in my stering wheel that starts around 70 (acording to my
inacurat speedo probably about 80) below that it is fine above that
it gets worse as you go. parts new within the last 15k tie rods,
cv's ball joints tires the rack was replaced but I used a used one
from another car I had( damn I new I should have bought a new one.)
the car had like 120k on it. now my question is is this vibration
from the rack? or could it be the steering column bearing? there is
play in the steering column.(ever since waterfest and my new jersey
trip--damn those highways are rough) there is also an adjustment on
manual racks. can I adjust it to take out play in the rack?. also
if I have to change the rack anyone know how tochange one without
removine my header--those are always fun to take off....
Thanks for reading
Tony
