1.8T VW BOOST!

1.8 T would be the way too go .. .with that 20V head... let it breath!!!

THIS HAS BEEN DONE!!!!!

Who ever has a recent past issue of Performance VW from the UK Check out
the 98 GTI International Coverage.. there is a small pic of a A1 GTI from
France (i think the Gull Winged Gti, it never had any guts before, some
crap box 1.8 or something.. now he has a motor 1.8T)

The pic was real small but you could see all the 1.8T plastic coverings on
the engine (get rid of that plastic)

Hope they do a profile on it again, cause this is the mod I would consider
strongly.

As for HP... some of those Audi guys are squeezing 400 HP plus out of it,
just check out TAP (i think) in EC for their claims.. plus EC did a profile
on one of their cars.. would'nt doubt it ..just look at Audi's past with
their rally cars.

The only thing i don't like about the stock computer system.. is the ECU
controlled boost... switch a chip to increase the boost... and run that
setting full time... So time to get rid of the stock computer and get an
aftermarket one.. and then add your manually boost control.

(a1 gti, cause cabrio, rabbit, rocco have all the same engine bay
configuration)

Actually, I don't think it will fit in an A1 chassis. I read that the A4
platform is way different than anything that VW has put out before. It is
supposed to have a different way of mounting the engine so it doesn't move so
much. Who knows though. If you wanted to do it bad enough I'm sure you could
do it. As nice as it would be to have one in the rocco, I don't know if it
would be worth the hassle, kind of like a G60 rocco. I got most of this
information of European Car Magazine. I know they are not the most reliable
source, but it wasn't written by Wu! Who knows?
