[non-rocco] '86 Golf GTI Q's

I have a friend (for some Scirocco content, he owns an '84 8v) who has a
GTI he wants to sell me .. Now, this list is a Vortex for info on 'rocco's,
so i know most of the common problems that occur with them, but i don't
know anything about this GTI, and i was wondering if anyone can give me a
list of common problems that plague GTI's (Recap, an '86 Golf GTI).. Some
of the mods done to it include Neuspeed suspention, and a header back to a
sporty exhaust, and the engine only has 5000 kms on it, but the car has 260
000kms on it, i've been told no rust, but i'm gonna check that out for
myself, and a few other things he didn't tell me about .. He wants $2500
Can. for it, but i'm sure i can talk him down .. Does this sound like a
fair deal? .. He says all it needs is a front motor mount, and he's doing
that before he sells it to me anyways.
