Ok I just went through this on my 82' The base of the antanna sits 3-3.25 in
from the end of the roof. I actually blew it and drilled the hole at 3 in. and
it caused me a lot of extra work cuz I hit a second layer of metal! So to
avoid this keep in mind that it's 3in. to the back of antanna not 3in. to the
hole. Good luck and I HTH.
