Well, of the 10 or so that are listed, which one? Shawn Maze

You have got to be kidding! I was there all weekend at the New Beetle Tour
trailer and we DIDN'T hook up? Oh well! How many other listers were there?
:JimBuck

Hey everyone, I'm going to take a look at this GLI. Tell me what you think
so far.:Smokin two of the same posts for me

Yes, great job Ben, keep your foot in their asses! ;-) :Jim Buck

Which direction do you plan to go? North, South, East?: Smokin

I have a 16V and dont know much about clutches but Ive heard lots on
8Vers using a 16V pressure plate for better performance....anyone? :Shannon
Fenton

They grip well, don't last very long, and are ONLY a summer tire. -Josiah

Glad to hear of people kicking butt! -Josiah

When is this show? I will be in the SD/LA area on Aug 6-10. Am I in luck?
Ross B Stuart

You generally can't get a clutch plate without a pressure plate. The whole
kit,
with the pushrod plate and everything, is only $110 anyway... -Josiah

NOW....this is what I see a small posts from the last time I read my
mail....exactly which one of Josiah posts are so annoying to you?
Not to mention his three longer posts that he sent helping people.like this

"You can take the struts out without putting a spring compressor on them and
then put the spring compressor on afterwards when you have the strut out of
the
car.
the job requires that you do the following:
1. Jack up the car
2. Remove the wheel
3. undo the two 13mm bolts at the top of the strut
4. undo the two bolts that hold the strut to the wheel bearing housing
(they're
usually 17mm but I've run across some 19mm
5. pull the brake hose out of it's little clip on the strut if it hasn't
already fallen out
6. rock that strut back and forth until it comes off of the wheel bearing
housing, and voila! you have removed the strut...

It's a piece of cake.
Changing the springs is a different story. See, now you will have a whole
strut
(compressed spring and strut insert) in your hand. Now you have to compress
that spring and get the top nut off (can be a pisser without air). You might
need a special tool if you're not lucky. Make sure you compress that spring
enough that there is no tension on it anymore and that you have that
compressor
on there well. If you release any tension from that spring all at once,
you're
going to have trouble! (as in injury, etc). Just be sure you put everthing
on
the same way it came off. And yes, you will need an alignment."

Not once in there did I see you offer a word of help to anyone......and if
you did it off list how would anyone else know?

I did not post this message to show contents of other peoples messages I
said before I don't care what ya post....i posted it to see why some get
chastized and some are acceptable for small posts?
