Re: 16x7.5 rims on SII
I have 16x7.5 TSW Evo's they are fine, BUT you will encounter some
rubbing unless you have full race suspension, even then you may still
have some. If you went with an ULTRA-low profile at the expense of
ride comfort you may also be ok, no rubbing. I have Dunlop SP8000
205.45.16's. If I had a 205.40.16 I would probably not rub. FYI, the
rims are a 35mm offset. Mine rub on the outer front fender lip.
Honestly, other than looks, there is no benifit that I can see for you
to trade up. Quite frankly I am toying with the idea of selling my
16's tire and rims and going back to the stock 14" teardrop wheel.

Does anyone have any experience with running a 16x7.5 rim on thier
Scirocco II? I'm thinking of upgrading next year from my 15x7's. If
you are running these successfully, what is the offset you are using and
tire size? If I didn't want to stay within stock diameter, how would I
go about 're-gearing' my speedo? Feel free to answer any one of these
questions, thanks!
