36mm Oil Pump

So if I am getting this all correct I could in theory swap my dying oil
pump for one of the 36mm variety into my 87 16V? Are these big gear oil
pumps off of the 2.0 motors? What years and models are compaitable.
Would it be possible to overpressurize my motor, she has  182000miles on
her clock.Thanks for all the input.
