euro bumper HELP!!!

All right I'm Busted.  I guess i should have been paying attention to the
euro thread but like an idiot I wasn't..
Here is what i have  -- i took off the factory  bumper, measured the metal
holders to cut two inches off.  This is a great idea, BUT -- what do you do
with the side of the bumper.  they wrap around an go along the side of the
car.  Will they stay put or do I need to do something to them.   This is what
i get for not Reading the Mail.  I won't let it happen again.
