Drilled rotors will give you increased braking performance and
cooling, but will stress crack over time, because of the abuse from
drilling 100000000000 holes in them. You might get only 3 years out
of them (make sure to check them everytime you rotate your tires
at least)
It's a good idea to buy brake pads with slots in them that radiate
from the inside out. How do I say this? A groove goes across the
pad perpendicular to the way the rotor will rub on it. This will
allow more dust to escape, and keep fresh(er) pad on the rotor. Check
the Metalmaster ones for the slot. Don't bother if they are really
expensive and unslotted. I'm not sure if VW's originals were slotted
but they might be, so check. It might be best to go with VW
originals. They may wear out faster than "Metal" brake pads, but
won't wear out your rotors as fast.
