If you are encountering rocks that big...where are you driving at?
Offroad? Rocks that fly up from road traffic are usualy very small,
hence you get small chips in the glass or paint...rarely will you
ever see a rock larger that 1/8" come flying up..or yourt winshield
would have a pretty large hole in it. Just don't drive behind dump
trucks and cement mixers, Just look at the other VW grills..they
only have 3 slats..and you don't see people balking about them. I
think you all are just paranoid or you have to drive down a heavily
trafficed dirt road every day.
