inspect before you buy

hard to believe that he didn't know, but i give him credit for putting
his $ where his mouth is.

i highly reccomend against using dealer chains. get a referral from
friends/family/listmembers to find a small shop that they trust. or use
a mechanic you are familiar with and trust. before i bought the bimmer,
i took it to Helmut's BMW in stratford CT, and paid the bastards $100 to
inspect the car. they told me nothing, gave the car their stamp of
approval, and I bought it. $2000 in repairs in the first 4 months.
