non-scirocco related but a truely cool story none the less.
Cruising to work this morning, i came upon a butt-ugly Euro
car. It had a euro-plate positioned between the rear lights and it
looked like the car was made for the euro plate, no body kit,
recessed plate hole etc. But the car looked like CRAP. the rear
lights were composed of one round lense, then 2 rectangles below it
staggered inward. pulling alogn side it you could see it was nothing
more than black sheetmetal , you could see all the rivets and no
side or wheel well trim molding. So I'm thining what the hell is
this piece of junk from oversees..why didn't this moron just lease a
VW or BMW once here. pulling in front of it the front end didn't
offer much help, no lights, just plastic lenses covering the areas
and taped off, but they looked darn professionally taped. the car
looked like a porpose...a smll grill in the center of the car, making
it looked liek it stuck out because of the absence of the ligh
lenses. No badges no nothing! But then..the next car in front of it
looked just the same! then another, then another but this one had
lights, and some side molding..hrmm I started to recognize the grill,
then the 5th was the same car but more complete looking..MERCEDES!
..totaly wicked experience seeing these 2 door Merc's cruising down
the freeway, they were'nt SLC style though..more like a toyota tercel
crossed with a bmw 325i....damn and too bad the wife took the camera
out of the car =[
