hoses

I've got a coolant leak at the pump housing, and the system's not staying as
cool as it oughta, so I'm gearing up to do the
pump/hoses/thermostat/radiator cap replacement thingie on my '82.

Last time I did this job, the guy who sold me  the upper and lower hoses
told me that those were really the only two "high-stress" hoses, and that I
needn't replace every single hose in the system (i.e., heater hoses, etc.).
Anybody wanna disabuse me of this notion, or was he part's guy's head on
straight?
