HELP OIL!!!

Hey guys

	I have been on the road with my 87 16v for about 3 weeks now
really driving it... Everywhere I park it I find oil under the car!!
The strange thing is is that my oil level on the dip stick is continusly
the same......  I did have the valve cover gasket replaced a while back
and I am running synthetic oil....  
Could the oil be old oil that is just sitting there?  WHY IS THE DIP STICK
ALWAYS EXACTLY THE SAME WHEN THERE IS OIL UNDER THE CAR!!!!!!!
